Holy Matrimony is a sacred covenant in which a man and a woman are united in lifelong love, reflecting Christ’s love for His Church. Couples are prepared spiritually and pastorally to enter into this holy vocation.
Requirements to get married
Both parties must be baptised Catholics (or one party with a dispensation)
Valid baptismal and confirmation certificates (not older than 6 months)
Letter of freedom from your home parish
Two passport photographs of each party
Completed marriage counselling programme
Payment of prescribed fees at the parish office
Introduction of both families to the Parish Priest
Step-by-step guide
Initial enquiry
Contact the parish office at least 6 months before your intended wedding date.
Marriage preparation course
Attend the mandatory marriage counselling programme run by the parish.
Documentation
Submit baptismal certificates, confirmation certificates, and other required documents.
Banns of marriage
Banns are published in the parish for three consecutive Sundays.
Wedding rehearsal
Attend a rehearsal session at the church before the wedding day.
The sacrament
Celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony in the presence of the Church community.
